(KMOV) -- St. Louis may allow people to carry small amounts of marijuana soon.
An alderman is considering sponsoring the bill, but which one is not clear yet since it's not officially a bill yet.
Mayor Francis Slay said on his website that the bill could do two things: make having small amounts of marijuana a lesser crime, or decriminalize it all together. Instead of jail time, violators would pay fines. Slay added that this kind of drastic change would require the cooperation of police and St. Louis Circuit Attorney.
Slay told News 4 that if he had to vote on the issue today, he'd vote no.
