(KMOV) -- Soon there might be fewer teenagers shopping at Mid Rivers Mall in St. Peters.
A new policy states that teens under the age of 18 must have an adult escort on Fridays and Saturdays.
Security at the mall has had problems with some unsupervised teens at the mall, and security guards will now roam the mall on Fridays and Saturdays looking for teens who are breaking curfew.
There will be security checkpoints where guards will ID anyone who appears to be under the age of 18. That new message is already getting out, and the signs have been printed.
There are exceptions to the rule. Teens who work in the mall will get a special pass. Also, teens attending the movies or a restaurant with an outdoor exit do not need escorts.
The curfew policy goes into effect on May 28th. It will continue indefinitely.
