Parents unhappy after Bayless School District cuts bus service

(KMOV) -- The Bayless School District plans to cut bus service due to a smaller budget next year.
Currently, families living within one mile of the school don’t qualify for bus service. A third of the district’s families live outside the mile radius and are unhappy with the change.
The district had to cut about $700,000 from next year’s budget and wanted the reductions to affect the classroom as little as possible. They say the budget shortfall is due to the loss of a $1.5 million grant, reduced tax revenue and a $200,000 cut in state funding.
