(KMOV) -- Illinois Gov. Pat Quinn announced today that 577 employers across the state have agreed to hire nearly 3,900 workers.
The jobs will come through the "Put Illinois to Work" employment program. The program is expected to create more than 15,000 jobs statewide.
Eligible Illinois residents are placed in subsidized employment programs with participating work sites for up to six months. The funding expires September 30 and is also when the subsidized jobs will have to end.
