Library Selling its Used Furniture Saturday Morning

If you're in the market for inexpensive, well-used office furniture, the St. Louis Public Library is holding a sale this weekend.  Saturday (May 15th) from 9 a.m. - 1 p.m., the library will put kids chairs, folding tables, and filing cabinets up for sale at the Compton Film Library at 1624 Locust Street in downtown St. Louis.

The items are coming from the Central Library which will soon undergo a $70 million renovation.  The library on Olive Street will close at the 5 p.m. on June 12th and remain closed for at least 18 months.

The library's director of marketing tells me the library is getting rid of items that won't be needed once the renovation is complete.  He describes the furniture as well-used and says most of the furniture will cost under $20.

Bring cash and make sure you can carry the items home.  The library won't take checks or credit cards and won't hold any of the furniture.  It's cash and carry - only.
