(KMOV)-- The Humane Society of Missouri is offering a $2,500 reward to find the suspect that shot a Jennings' family dog.

Family members told News 4 that they heard three shots Thursday morning in the 5400 block of Wilborn. They found their 5-year-old pit-bull named "Rock" bleeding and discovered that he'd been shot on the shoulder with a small caliber bullet.

A vet at the Humane Society said the dog is lucky. The bullet entered and exited without striking a bone. Rock was treated and will go home Thursday.
