The St. Louis County Council might pass an ordinance that would jack up the fine drivers will have to pay if they’re caught breaking the law in a work zone.
Right now, the maximum fine is $1,000 . If passed, that fine would jump to $1,250. The proposed ordinance allows county judges to tack on an additional $250 fee to all drivers that speed or make illegal lane changes in work zones.
What do you think? Is the fine excessive or does it fit the crime?
