Five area men sentenced on federal child pornography charges

(KMOV) -- Five area men have been sentenced on federal child pornography charges.

George Fox, 68, of Clarkson Valley was sentenced to 24 months in prison after pleading guilty in February to one felony count of possession of child pornography.
 
Andrew Spallek, 50, of Florissant was sentenced to 36 months in prison. He pleaded guilty to one felony count of possession of child pornography in February. He was also received a fine of $10,000.
 
Charles Kerry, 50, of St. Louis was sentenced to 78 months in prison after pleading guilty in January to one felony count of receipt of child pornography.
 
Michael Ellington, 32, of Florissant was sentenced to 51 months in prison after pleading guilty in January to three felony counts of possession of child pornography.
 
Gordon Kearns, 82, of St. Louis was sentenced to 12 months in prison after pleading guilty to one felony count of possession of child pornography.
 
All five men were sentenced to lifetime parole.
 
These cases were brought as part of Project Safe Childhood, a nationwide initiative to combat the growing epidemic of child sexual exploitation and abuse. Project Safe Childhood marshals federal, state and local resources to better locate, apprehend and prosecute individuals who exploit children on the Internet, as well as to identify and rescue victims.
