(KMOV)-- Police are investigating a possible domestic dispute in north St. Louis County that ended with a car crash two people shot.

Authorities said police received a call reporting two cars chasing each other around 3 p.m. at Bliss and Blakewell. A 28-year-old man allegedly shot at and struck a 26-year-old woman while she was driving. Her vecihle reportedly crashed at Ewell and Nectar.

The male driver of the other car drove his Dodge Charger completely through a house. He then allegedly tried to kick in a neighbor's door when police arrived on the scene. The suspect fired shots at police. Police fired back and shot the suspect.

Police believe this all started as a possible domestic dispute.

Two elderly women were inside of the house during the crash. They were not injured.

Both the suspect and female driver are hospitalized. Officials say that the suspect made it through surgery, and the woman is listed in satisfactory condition. No officers were injured in the incident.

Charges will likely be filed against the male suspect early next week. His name has not yet been released.
