ST. LOUIS (KMOV) – A woman in town for a concert said someone attempted to sexually assault her on the St. Louis University campus Tuesday night.

The woman, 54, told SLU security she was in the Compton Parking Garage in the 3200 block of Olive around 11:30 p.m. when a man walked up and grabbed her.

Police said they struggled in the back cargo area of her SUV as the man tried to pull her clothes off.

Authorities said the victim broke free from the man’s grasp and ran to the front of her vehicle. The suspect chased her and again tried to take her clothes off.

The suspect then fled after the victim began screaming.

While police say there was only one suspect involved, SLU campus officials told students and staff that there may have been two attackers.

According to SLU officials, the woman and her boyfriend were in St. Louis to attend a Phish concert at Chaifetz Arena. Officials said they became separated at the end of the concert and the attack happened as she waited for him at their SUV.

Police say they continue to look for those responsible.
