St. Louis homeowner opens fire on fleeing robbery suspects

ST. LOUIS (KMOV.com) -- Police say two armed men who robbed a south St. Louis man in his home had the tables turned when the victim opened fire with a weapon of his own, seriously injuring one of the suspects.

The incident happened in the 3800 block of Potomac around 2 p.m. Saturday.

According to police, the two suspects were armed with guns when they broke into the victim's home. The pair allegedly took the man's cell phone and cash, then fled.

Police say the 22-year-old victim chased them outside, pulled out a gun and fired at the fleeing pair. A 28-year-old suspect was shot in the buttocks, and is now listed in critical condition.

The second suspect, described as a 17 to 20-year-old male, remains at large.

Police have not indicated whether the victim will face any charges.
