ST. LOUIS (KMOV.com) –- A man taken into custody after a chase near downtown is believed to be responsible for at least six robberies, according to police.
Police say the most recent incident happened at 800 Walnut Street just after 1 a.m. Sunday.
A man and woman had entered their Jeep Patriot when the suspect allegedly approached them from the rear, implied he had a handgun and demanded they exit the vehicle. Police say the suspect then fled south on 8th Street.
The suspect later led officers on a chase near downtown before being apprehended on North 23rd Street, according to police.
Officials did not release information on the other robberies allegedly linked to the suspect.
