ST. LOUIS (KMOV) – The St. Louis Cardinals optioned relief pitcher Barret Browning to Triple-A Memphis after Thursday’s win against the Houston Astros, the team announced Friday.
Right-handed pitcher Brandon Dickson has been recalled as a corresponding move.
Browning posted a 5.12 ERA in 19.1 innings pitched this season for the Cardinals.
Dickson, 27, made two relief appearances earlier this season, allowing one run on three hits in 2.1 innings pitched.
He made four August starts for the Triple-A Redbirds, posting a 3.25 EAR and holding opponents to a .225 batting average.
