ST. LOUIS (KMOV.com) – Seven women were robbed at gunpoint Wednesday night outside Busch Stadium following the Cardinals game.
The incident occurred around 11 p.m. in the 500 block of S. Broadway. Five women were walking south on Broadway when they passed a suspect leaning against a fence.
As they walked past, the suspect displayed a black handgun and demanded all five victims put their purses on the ground. Four complied while one woman kept walking. At this point, the victims noticed a second suspect sitting in a maroon or burgundy SUV in front of them.
Two other victims, unaware of the robbery, were walking south and passed the group. One victim turned and began walking the other direction and the other victim handed her property to the suspect when he threatened to shoot her if she ran.
The suspect then pointed his gun at the group and forced them to walk north. The suspects fled in the vehicle which was identified as a Ford Explorer or Mercury Mountaineer.
The vehicle matches the description of a vehicle used in the robbery of Washington University students early Sunday morning.
The suspects made off with four purses, two cell phones, three wallets, and ID’s and money belonging to the first four victims.
Police are continuing to investigate.
