ST. LOUIS, Mo. (KMOV.com) – The Missouri Department of Transportation and its contractor will close all lanes of westbound Interstate 64 downtown on the double deck structure this weekend.
All lanes and ramps will close on westbound I-64 downtown between the I-44/I-55 ramp on the Poplar Street Bridge and 21st Street starting at 10 a.m. Friday, August 24 to continue work to remove and replace the driving surface.
Crews will close two left lanes on eastbound I-64 downtown between 14th Street and the Poplar Street Bridge from 10 a.m. Friday until 2 p.m. and then again at 8 p.m. Friday night.
Two westbound lanes will reopen by 3 a.m. Monday, August 27. The two eastbound lanes will reopen by 2 p.m. Monday, August 27.
Drivers are urged to use westbound I-44 and Jefferson to detour around the lane closures. Drivers in downtown will be able to get onto westbound I-64 at Pine Street, Jefferson Avenue or the Market/Compton Interchange to access westbound I-64 from the city.
