MAPAVILLE, Mo. (KMOV.com) – A Jefferson County home was destroyed after fire ripped through it early Thursday morning.
The Mapaville fire chief said crews responded to the scene in the 100 block of Pecos Drive around 2:30 a.m.
The owner of the home told police she and her boyfriend were outside when the fire started. They were not injured.
When firefighters arrived on the scene, they reported the home was fully engulfed in flames. The damage to the home is substantial and is considered to be a total loss.
The fire chief said the cause is not yet known, but they are investigating the case as possible arson.
