ST. CHARLES COUNTY (KMOV.com) -- The Missouri Department of Transportation will shut down part of Interstate 70 in St. Charles County on Thursday.
Crews will close two lanes of westbound I-70 from the Blanchette bridge to the Fifth Street exit starting Thursday night at 10 p.m..
The lanes will reopen by 5 a.m. Friday.
MoDOT says they need to remove an overhead sign right before the Fifth Street exit.
“The overhead signs on I-70 have to come down because where the pole sits is right where the temporary pavement is in the median is going to need to be placed,” said spokesperson Linda Wilson Horn.
MoDOT will close all westbound lanes of the Blanchette bridge for almost a year beginning in November.
