ST. LOUIS (KMOV) -- The 4Warn Storm Team is closely tracking a cold front that is bringing severe storms and hail to the St. Louis areas.

Hail and strong winds are possible in the strongest thunderstorms.  Tornadoes are not expected.

Check out the latest forecast from the 4Warn Storm Team.

“If you’re trying to forecast a tornado outbreak, you look for strong shear.  That’s a change in wind direction and speed with height.  We’re just not seeing that today,” says 4Warn Meteorologist Matt Chambers.

Rain is expected to wind down from north to south this evening and tonight. Behind this storm system, much cooler air will roll into the bi-state area.  High temperatures will range from the upper 70s to near 80 for Friday and this weekend.
