(KMOV.com) – A spokesman for Southern Illinois University says police interviewed a person of interest, but still have no suspect after a student was robbed at the Edwardsville campus.

School officials say the 17-year-old student was returning to campus from his job delivering pizzas, when a man felt a gun on his back in the parking lot next to Bluff Hall. The student says the man announced a robbery and demanded cash.

The student gave the man $200 in tip money from his job. The student says the robber then took his cell phone and car keys. The robber told the student to run toward the dorm. The robber then quickly left the scene.

The student was not hurt.

According to crime statistics, SIUE reported only two robberies on campus since 2008. Saturday night's robbery makes it the third in three years.

University officials say they are sending out extra police patrols to keep students safe.
