Rangers fans are rooting for Cards

(BaseballStL) -- Now that the Rangers have eliminated the Detroit Tigers, claiming the American League pennant for the second year in a row, attention turns to who they will face in the World Series.

The Giants stuck it to the Rangers last year in the Fall Classic, so this team from Texas will be ready for a tussle. Exactly who they will be tussling with is still up in the air.

During the NLDS word was that the entire nation was rooting for the Redbirds to knock off the “Dream Team” from Philly. However the NLCS has been different.

So who would Rangers fans rather face in the World Series? According to a poll on WFAA.com in Dallas, the choice is clear… seven out of ten Texas fans want to play the Cardinals over the Brewers.

How are we to take this? The way the Rangers have been playing, and the way that Nelson Cruz has been distributing souvenirs over the wall to fans in the bleachers game after game, it is tough to believe that Texas fans fear the Brewers, or think the Cards would be an easier go of it.

Rather, it seems Texas baseball fans know what a great series a showdown with the storied franchise of the St. Louis Cardinals would mean.

And you know what? We agree.
