EAST ST. LOUIS, Ill. (KMOV) – After days of swirling rumors, conflicting reports, assertions and denials, the police chief of East St. Louis has been fired.
The city manager announced her decision to fire Ranadore Foggs on Friday after initially denying it.
Captain Bobby Cole confirmed to News 4 that he will be named acting chief, effective on Saturday.
Some are wondering why the city wanted to get rid of Foggs, whom it just hired five months ago. Foggs says he offered his resignation in an effort to get the city to commit more resources to his department.
