High school student's faked pregnancy set to become a movie

SEATTLE, Wash. – A Toppenish, Wash., high school student who faked being pregnant as part of a social experiment for her senior project is about to become the subject of a movie.

According to Deadline.com, the Lifetime network plans to produce “The Pregnancy Project,” based on the story of Gaby Rodriguez.

The 17-year-old stunned teachers and classmates in April when she took off her belly bundle at a school assembly. The school responded with a standing ovation.

Only her mother, boyfriend and the principal reportedly knew she was faking the pregnancy. Her own siblings didn’t even know the truth.

Rodriguez conducted the experiment to learn the true perceptions people have about pregnant students.

“The Pregnancy Project” will reportedly star “Spy Kids” alum Alexa Vega. No release date has been set.
