(KMOV.com) -- A new expansion project at a Webster Groves senior living center is set to break ground on Friday and generate 600 local jobs.
The Laclede Groves $48.7 million expansion will add a four-story, 80 apartment addition to the Lutheran Senior Services retirement community at . A second new building will add 60 private rooms. Laclede Groves is located at 727 S. Laclede Station Road in Webster Groves, Missouri.
The expansion is an 18 month project and is expected to be completed before mid 2013.
When finished, Laclede Groves will have 332 apartments, 105 assisted living apartments, 256 skilled nursing beds and 54 patio homes for independent living.
The project will generate about 600 construction jobs.

Perkins Eastman of Pittsburgh is the project's architect. Handling the rest of work are St. Louis area companies — engineering firms SSE Inc., Tennill & Associates and BAX Engineering plus landscape architecture by Lawrence Group. Paric Corp. is the general contractor.
