CHESTER, Ill. (AP) -- Sentencing is scheduled for next month for a former special-education mentor in southwestern Illinois who admits she sexually abused a 13-year-old student.
Thirty-six-year-old Sherry Carnahan has pleaded guilty in Randolph County to a felony count of aggravated criminal sexual abuse.
Carnahan was charged in March with predatory sexual assault involving the boy she was mentoring at a school in Nashville. But while she was out on bond, she was arrested again after she violated conditions of her bail by having contact with the alleged victim.
Carnahan's sentencing hearing is scheduled for Nov. 10.
