(KMOV) -- The Missouri Department of Transportation has confirmed it will close Ladue Road just east of Route 141 after morning rush Thursday.
Crews will keep Ladue closed for up to 40 days as they complete work to connect Ladue with the new Route 141 interchange. Drivers can use Mason and Conway roads to detour around the closure.
Local traffic will be able to use Ladue Road between Mason Road and the closure, which will be right at Route 141. This work is all part of a $44.5 million project to relocate Route 141 slightly east of its current location.
The project will reduce the possibility of flooding on the route, as well as reduce congestion and improve safety. It includes new bridges and interchanges at Ladue Road and Olive Boulevard, as well as several miles of new pavement.
MoDOT suggests drivers to plan ahead to avoid work zones by calling 1-888-ASK-MODOT or visiting their website.
