SEAL BEACH, Calif. (AP) -- A hair salon owner who died in a shooting rampage at his shop lived along the back nine at a desert golf course and worked just blocks from the beach.
Randy Fannin had loyal customers and neighbors who said they were proud to be his friend.
Customer Mary Stearns says she has followed Fannin to three salons in the 30 years she has known him. She describes him as a wine connoisseur.
Fannin was among the six women and two men killed Wednesday in the attack at his Salon Meritage in Seal Beach. Their identities were not officially released, but Fannin's niece, Tami Scarcella, told the Los Angeles Times her uncle was among the dead.
Customer Elaine Metz says Fannin was nice and even looked like Tom Selleck.
