ST. LOUIS (KMOV) – Police are looking for three teenagers after as many as 20 car break-ins in two communities happened overnight in Clayton and University City overnight Monday into Tuesday.
Police say the thieves broke into one car after another, breaking windows, taking valuables, computers, wallets and anything else they could see.
Residents say police tell them this has been a problem all summer. The best description so far of the suspects is three mid to late aged teens.
By the end of the day the suspects had broken into 13 cars in University City and seven in Clayton.
The car the teens apparently drive off in was later found in St. Louis along natural Bridge with all the stolen items inside.
Break-ins seem so common now that Clayton police have now turned to YouTube to help citizens avoid becoming a victim.
Car owners in the area now say they’ll keep a close watch while police try to find the thieves.
