Brewers fans incognito in Milwaukee

I assumed people in Milwaukee were as passionate about their baseball team as St. Louisians are about theirs.  Perhaps not.  After two days in Milwaukee I've seen very little in the way of navy and gold around town.

Don't get me wrong, people around here are happy their team's doing well in the playoffs.  It's been a loooong time for them.  When I go up to the locals and tell them I work for a St. Louis TV station they are happy to pump up their team and show their love for it.

But where are the jerseys, the t-shirts the ballcaps.  My colleague and I drove all over downtown and some nice area parks, a mall, local attractions and probably counted no more than a dozen people in Brewers garb in four hours.

If I did that in St. Louis today I would have had an easier time counting people NOT wearing Cardinals gear.  Just about everyone around St. Louis is decked out in at least red if they're not wearing an actual Cardinals logo somewhere.

Maybe they're so surprised to finally have a great team to cheer for in Milwaukee, they haven't gotten around to buying their Brewers gear.
