(KMOV) -- Police are still searching for the car involved in a hit and run accident that critically injured a man in south St. Louis City late Thursday night.
The hit and run took place at Gravois near Spring Avenue just after 9 p.m. Thursday.
Two drivers in the area spotted a dark green four-door Ford Escort, it is believed this vehicle was responsible for the hit and run.
Police say the 50-year-old victim was crossing the street and was in the middle of Gravois when he was hit by the vehicle.
A witness on the scene says the car hit the pedestrian and then dragged him several feet before taking off.
The victim was transported to an area hospital shortly after being hit. The man is currently listed in critical condition.
Police do not have any information on a possible suspect at this time.
An investigation is underway.
