Two children struck by vehicle at De Soto bus stop

(KMOV.com) -- Two young boys are recovering in the hospital after they were struck by a vehicle while boarding a school bus.

Police told News 4 that the accident happened around 8:00 Wednesday morning in the 200 block of Amvets Drive in De Soto, Missouri. According to reports, the two children were struck by a vehicle while they were boarding a bus. One boy is 6-years-old and the other is 8-years-old. 

The victims were taken to Children's Hospital and St. Anthony's Hospital in St. Louis. The extent of their injuries is unknown.

Witnesses stated that the driver of the vehicle did not stop for the stop sign arm on the bus.

The 22-year-old female driver is being questioned by police. Authorities are not releasing the names of the victims or the driver at this time.
