CUPERTINO, Calif. (AP) -- Authorities say a disgruntled employee opened fire at a Northern California quarry, killing two people and wounding six others.
Santa Clara County Sheriff's spokesman Jose Cardoza said the shooting at Lehigh Southwest Cement Company occurred around 4 a.m. Wednesday.
Cardoza said the employee, who has not been identified, walked into a safety meeting with a handgun and rifle and opened fire.
He then left the meeting and began walking around the quarry grounds. Cardoza says he remains at large. Authorities got a report of a man who matched his description and was armed with a handgun and rifle nearby.
