(BaseballStL) -- St. Louis Cardinals second baseman Ryan Theriot and first baseman Albert Pujols became the 11th and 12th Cardinals in history to have four hits in a single postseason game on Tuesday.
Pujols finished 4-for-5 including three doubles in the 3-2 loss to the Philadelphia Phillies in Game 3.
Theriot had four singles in five plate appearances and is hitting .667 in the postseason after going 2-for-4 in Game 2.
The last Cardinals player to collect four hits in a single postseason game was David Eckstein in Game 6 of the 2006 World Series.
