ST. LOUIS (KMOV) – A local school in the city of St. Louis will be without hot water for a week, but St. Louis Public Schools says that the students at Central VPA and Naval Junior ROTC will be safe.
The district said it talked with health services before making any decisions since nearly 700 students will be affected.
Officials say the water heater at Central VPA and at Cleveland ROTC are no longer working. It is unclear why, and it will take one week to fix.
One area that is affected by having no hot water is food. There is some hot water, but not enough to flow to the kitchen to safely prepare hot meals, which would be a code violation. To get around this, students will receive lunches that will consist of a sandwich, fruit, carrot sticks and milk.
