The Post provided extraordinary coverage on a story that devastated a community. The reporters, photographers and editors who crafted the compelling and sensitive stories and photos deserve the honor.
The Prizes are named after Joseph Pulitzer, the Publisher of the Post-Dispatch. When he wrote his will in 1904, Pulitzer provided funding for the establishment of the Pulitzer Prizes. He hoped it would inspire journalists to excellence. The awards are administered by Columbia University, which also administers the duPont-Columbia Awards, the broadcasting equivalent of the Pulitzers.
The Pulitzer Prizes are judged by a distinguished group of journalists who comprise the Pulitzer Board.
Congratulations to the Post!
