On Saturday I marked another milestone in preparing for the arrival of my baby boy... the baby shower. Love 'em or hate 'em, baby showers are practically a rite of passage for the new mom and her baby. From the goofy (and sometimes humiliating) games to the ooohing over all the tiny baby things, baby showers are a fun way to celebrate and share the excitement of adding to the family. I had a wonderful time with friends and family on Saturday and, as an added bonus, got some really cool stuff.
Here are just a few things that I got:
I got a lot of accessories to go with my nursery. They are so cute and they made the empty baby room instantly look warmer. My nursery will hopefully look something like this.
I also got a hand-knitted a blanket for my baby. My roommate from college spent months working on it. It was thoughtful and really soft.
My friend Amy and her daughter Breann found the cutest outfit that my husband can't wait to put on our son. My husband is a guitar player and this outfit has a monkey playing the guitar on it and it says "Daddy Rocks!" I have a feeling our baby will wear this shirt out!
I also got some great books, cute onesies, tons of necessities (diapers, bath stuff, pacifiers, crib mattress, swing), and the ever-popular Boppy.
After taking all of my goodies home, I spent my Sunday afternoon opening and assembling all kinds of gadgets for baby Spriggs. Who knew there were so many things you need for a baby? I know now, that's for sure!
I have another shower this Saturday and I can't wait! I know it will be a great time!
