My new baby boy, Jude is a special little guy. I'm not just saying that because I'm a proud mom...even though I am. He's also special because he is the first grandchild for my parents, he is the first great-grandchild for both sets of my grandparents and he is the first great-great-grandchild on my dad's side of the family. In case you haven't guessed, this kid is spoiled like you would not believe!
A couple of weeks ago we took Jude to meet his great-great-grandparents. They are 94-years-old and are celebrating their 75th wedding anniversary this weekend. They still live on their own and are in great shape. In fact, my great-grandpa still drives! Jude's middle name (Lowery) is the same as my great-grandpa's. We wanted to name our son after a very special person. I hope my son grows up to be the kind of man that my great-grandpa is! My great-grandparents are truly amazing people and I love them very much!
It's a pretty awesome event when you can get five generations of your family together. Most people don't get to experience that, but if you do, be sure to take a picture. Here's ours.
In the front are my great-grandparents Edith and Larry. Of course that's Jude sitting on grandpa's lap. Behind them are my grandma (or Maw-Maw as I call her) Beverly, my dad Kevin and me.
