New Year's Resolutions

Do you make them? Every year I swear off them, but every year I make them and every year they are the same, and I rarely live up to them. My annual New Year's resolutions are the cliché ones...lose weight, live healthier, get get the idea. They are probably the same resolutions you make. I say this every year, but, as is my tradition, I'll say it again...this year I'm serious! I'm sticking to my resolutions! So here they are:

Lose weight: I've got to get rid of this baby weight, and then some! My goal is to be able to fit into my summer clothes by the time it is warm enough to wear them. My plan is to eat better and get back into exercising regularly. I went to the gym a lot before I had Jude, now it's much harder to get there. By the time I get home from work, all I want to do is spend time with my little boy. I don't want to go to the gym for an hour and put him in the gym's daycare. So how do you other moms do it? How do you make time for exercise and still get to spend enough time with your kids? Post your tips below.

Live healthier: This year I want to start getting more fresh and organic foods into my home. I know that sometimes that can be a little more expensive, but I think it's a good investment for my family. Which leads me to...

Budget better: This year I want to get a better, more organized budget. Right now, I just use an Excel spreadsheet, which works okay, but I want to be able to keep better track of our spending. I also want to make our family budget more detailed and strict. Currently our budget is a guideline that we try to stay within, but I want our budget to be followed more diligently. We all know that times are tough right now, and I want to make sure that every penny is spent wisely.

Get organized: I am already an organizational fiend. Things are already pretty organized in my home, but there are a few little projects that I want to get done. Especially my photos. Like many moms I know, I have tons of pictures of my family, but most of them stay on my digital camera or on my computer. This year I want to actually get some pictures printed, framed, and put into albums. It's a big task, but it is my number one organizational goal for 2009.

So there it is, my list of 2009 New Year's resolutions. I am really going to focus on getting them done this year. I think I'm going to make a list of them and hang it on my fridge so that I have to stare at it everyday. That way I can cross things off as I accomplish them. That's always such a good feeling.

As always, I welcome your comments. What are your resolutions? How do you plan to reach those goals? Any tips to help me reach mine? I'd love to hear from you!

Have a safe and happy New Year! See ya in 2009!
