All you moms out there, I say this all the time, but I know you'll all agree...being a mom is a lot of work! It's the best and most incredible job in the world, but it can be overwhelming at times. I know we have all been there. A friend of mine forwarded me some information that I thought I'd pass along to all of you.
No matter what your situation is, we all need a support system, whether it's family, friends, neighbors, whoever...we all need people to lean on. St. Anthony's hospital is offering a support group for new moms and I think this is awesome because the demands of being a new mom can be very challenging. I know I've spent hours stressing out over questions that all new moms have, "why is he still crying," "what am I doing wrong," "when will I ever get some sleep!!!!" And a lot of times I was too proud or embarrassed to ask for help and advice. I felt like I needed to be the super-hero and do it all myself! It's too tough to go through motherhood alone!
The New Moms Network at St. Anthony's Medical Center gives new moms the opportunity to meet new friends to share tips, information and experiences with and to support each other.
They meet on the second and fourth Wednesdays of each month in the Hyland Education & Training Center at 10020 Kennerly Road. This month's meeting will be from 10-11:30 a.m. on May 13 and 27. You can call 314-525-4002 or 1-800-554-9550 for more info or to register or check out their website.
Plus, here's the best part, you're welcome to bring your babies and it's FREE! Pretty cool! If you go, please e-mail me or post a comment below and tell me about it. I'd love to hear more about it!
