Cribs, inflatable baby floats recalled

I was watching the Early Show this morning and saw a story about several baby products that are being recalled. The one that caught my eye first was a crib recall. This brand of cribs is being recalled because the plastic connector on the drop rail side of the crib can separate from the rest of the crib and the baby can fall in between the drop side and the mattress and suffocate. This recently happened in Texas and the baby died as a result. I had my husband check our crib and, sure enough, it's the crib that my son Jude uses. So, I will be going to Target this weekend (that's where I got it) to see what I can do. I'll let you know how that goes. Until then, Jude's sleeping in the pack-n-play. Here's all the info on the crib recall.

The other recall involves a bunch of inflatable pool toys for babies. These toys are those little boats that babies can sit in while they're in the pool. The CPSC says, "The leg straps in the seat of the float can tear, causing children to unexpectedly fall into or under the water, posing a risk of drowning." Here's a picture of one of the toys, but there are several being recalled:

So, from one mommy to another, be sure to check out these recalls to be sure your baby gear is safe!
