Did you know that the United Way of Greater St. Louis' has a young professionals group? It's called GenNext, and is an organization for young professionals wanting to strengthen St. Louis while networking and advancing their careers. GenNext provides volunteer and networking opportunities for individuals in their 20s and 30s. Participants learn how their personal community involvement makes a positive impact on the region, while getting a chance to interact with a diverse group of peers and local leaders.
Each month offers new opportunities to help out around the bi-state region. Projects may include painting, landscaping, entertaining seniors or making crafts with kids. Build friendships while serving alongside your peers at these fun, meaningful volunteer events!
At exclusive events such as CEO lunches, you can discuss your career and how philanthropy fits into your future. These small, invitation-only gatherings introduce you to some of St. Louis' most influential business and community leaders who support the United Way.
From sports to rooftop happy hours, GenNext regularly holds social events that let you network with other young professionals. Often events have a philanthropic twist, such as the holiday party that raises money for United Way. They also partner with other young professional groups to share ideas and connections
There's no membership cost or requirements -- just sign up for one of the projects or events on their calendar, or subscribe to the GenNext e-newsletter. Once you join GenNext, you'll get to pick from a wide selection of activities. Click here to go to their website for more information.
