Every week I spotlight a different young professionals group that is a member of the Connect With...Young Professionals Collaborative. FOCUS St. Louis facilitates this collaborative. So who is FOCUS St. Louis???
They offer the chance for you to get to know the region better, to make changes in the region, and to grow into your own leadership potential. Their events and programs are open to St. Louisans of all ages. This is an opportunity to meet and establish relationships with leaders in the region from a variety of sectors and backgrounds.
So how can you get involved? Perhaps by joining one of their policy task forces. Two going on right now are about communities going green and affordable workforce housing. This is an opportunity for you to get involved on a critical regional issue and to network with others who share your interest.
You can attend one of their educational forums like the viewing and discussion of the film "Ask Not" coming up on May 14 which they bring to the community in partnership with the Missouri Historical Society and KETC. From their Breakfast Clubs to Policy Forums to Bridges groups, there are many opportunities to get to know more people in the region while learning about something new.
On May 7 at the Sheldon Concert Hall, FOCUS St. Louis will celebrate What's Right With The Region. This is a tribute to some of the region's many unsung heroes. The award recipients make the bi-state region a better place to live, work, and learn. Come share a cocktail and then stay to hear their amazing stories.
