The City League was started on the premise that Adult Recreational Sports could be enhanced and made to be so much more than just showing up and playing sports at an assigned time each week. Currently, there are two leagues, one coed Sand Volleyball League, which plays Thursday evenings at Shaw Park in Clayton and one Men's Flag Football League which will begin in June at Tower Grove Park on Sunday afternoons.
The group tries to provide local and convenient locations with additional perks, like the fact that they will be keeping statistics for the Flag Football League and naming an Offensive & Defensive Player of the Week, as well as year. Those statistics will be updated on their website at www.thecityleague.com.
This is a healthy, alternative way for young professionals to get out and stay active, while meeting new people and networking in a new way. City league is still very new, but they are exploring social and volunteer opportunities and have made plans to become very involved with Connect....With.
