ArtLink is the collaborative Young Friends program sponsored by the Contemporary Art Museum St. Louis, Laumeier Sculpture Park, COCA, and the Foundry Art Centre. ArtLink is a way for young adults in St. Louis to get involved with the arts in an exciting and fun environment, meet other people who share their interests, and learn about the organizations that promote the arts in St. Louis.
Prior to launching ArtLink, each of the affiliated organizations had their own Young Friends group, and hosted a few social and educational events for them each year. With ArtLink the groups have joined into a single large program, so that young friends are now invited to more events, with the chance to meet more like-minded people than ever before.
Events are creative and connect young St. Louisans with the behind-the-scenes happenings at the different arts institutions. It's a great way to "sample" what's in the community, and start getting involved. Here are several events that ArtLink has hosted;
-Reception with the Orange Girls after their opening reception of their play
-beer exchange with the curator at Laumeier Sculpture Park
-hot chocolate and open studios with the artists at Foundry Art Centre
-BBQ with artists across St. Louis during the Contemporary's City-Wide Open Studios program
ArtLink memberships are $20 for one full year. For more information, check out their website.
