MADISON, Ill. (KMOV.com) – Police are looking for an armed man who robbed a Madision, Illinois credit union Thursday morning.
The robbery happened just after 11 a.m. at the Granite City Steel Credit Union. Police said the suspect entered the establishment, pulled out a handgun and demanded money.
Police said nobody was injured during the robbery, but did not say if the suspect got away with any cash.
Witnesses described the suspect to police as a black male, approximately six feet tall, wearing a red baseball cap, tan shirt, blue jeans and glasses.
Authorities said the suspect was last seen fleeing in a black Dodge Caliber with a separate driver. They were last seen headed toward Interstate 55. Witnesses caught a glimpse of the license plate, but didn’t get a number. They said it was red, white and blue. Police believe it may be a dealer plate.
Anyone seeing the suspect and driver are encouraged to call police. Do not approach the suspects. They are considered armed and dangerous.
