Mom uses Facebook to lead investigators to a suspected child predator

MONTGOMERY COUNTY—A Louisiana man is accused of sending pornographic material to underage girls online.

Duane Parker, 49, used Facebook to fish for young girls to befriend and to send pornographic material to, investigators said.

A Houston mom, who asked not to be identified, alerted authorities after finding suggestive messages and a video showing a man’s private parts on her daughter’s Facebook page.

“The video also had a pornographic message attached,” she said. “And that’s what I turned over to the authorities.”

“He’s a classic predator,” said Captain Mark Seals of the Montgomery County Precinct 4 Constable’s Office.

Seals said Parker befriended at least 17 girls online and would communicate like a young teenager to win their trust.

“But eventually it would lead to him sending pornographic images to them,” he said.

Authorities arrested Parker near Friendswood last week. He was being held at the Montgomery County Jail on two counts of solicitation of a minor under the age of 14.

Bond has been set at $200,000. In an unrelated case, he’s also been charged with first-degree felony aggravated assault of a child, which stems from an incident in 2008 involving his then 6-year-old daughter.
