ST. LOUIS, Mo. (KMOV) – Several house fires broke out just blocks apart from each other in a north St. Louis city neighborhood early Monday.
Authorities said the first fire started inside a vacant home in the 4800 block of Bessie shortly before 2 a.m. The fire gutted the home, causing the roof to collapse.
Another fire started a short time later inside a detached garage in the 4700 block of Penrose Avenue. It was unknown if anyone was inside the garage when the fire started.
Crews then worked to put out flames at a home near the intersectiong of Lee Avenue and Shreve just after 3 a.m. The cause of that fire was unclear.
No injuries were reported.
Authorities said there is no evidence to suggest the fires are connected. Officials will monitor the area for the next several days for any other fire activity.
