ST. LOUIS (KMOV) – A man wanted for allegedly killing two women in a Ferguson, Missouri apartment was arrested Friday morning in Minnesota, police said.
Darnell Xavier Vaughn, 29, who goes by the nickname “Chuckie”, was taken into custody around 4:30 a.m. in Hennepin County, Minnesota.
Authorities said Vaughn surrendered to authorities after calling police from a Minneapolis hotel. He was arrested without incident.
Vaughn is currently in the Hennepin County Jail pending extradition to Missouri.
Before Vaughn’s arrest, his mother, Lois Adams, and his father, Darwin Vaughn, were arrested and are facing charges for helping Vaughn get away. Vaughn’s friend, DeAndre Galmore, was arrested in Minneapolis on the same charge and will be extradited back to Missouri.
The two female victims, identified as 29-year-old Tasheera Johnson and 30-year-old Claudia Williams, were found dead by family members in their apartment on August 31.
Investigators said the victims apparently died from gunshot wounds. Police said a baby who was also found in apartment was not harmed.
