A traffic stop in Maryland ended in a frightening accident.
Trooper David Avila was hit by a tractor trailer driving too close to the shoulder.
"I heard the rumble strip just before the vehicle came across or came towards me, took a quick glance over my shoulder and kind of saw it," said Avila.
He made it to the guard rail and radioed for help.
The accident happened in June. Avila suffered injuries to his shoulder, back and legs, and has problems with balance.
The truck driver was fined for breaking the "Move Over" law designed to protect emergency responders.
