SPRINGFIELD, Mo. (AP) -- Springfield police say remains found in a trash can have been identified as those of a Florida woman.
Police say the Greene County Medical Examiner's office identified the remains found July 3 as 28-year-old Kelly A. Frech.
The address where the remains were found was the last known home of Adam Bergseth, who was shot and killed by a Marionville police officer June 30. Police say Bergseth was shot after he approached the officer with a pair of scissors.
Marionville Police Chief Mark Webb told The Springfield News-Leader Frech met Bergseth in Florida, but that he did not know the nature of their relationship. He also didn't know where in Florida Frech was from.
Police say the investigation is continuing and released no further information.
