Cahokia man pleads guilty in prostitution case

ST. LOUIS (AP) -- A southern Illinois man faces sentencing in November after admitting that he enticed an under-age girl into prostitution.

Federal prosecutors say Richard Anderson, 23, of Cahokia, Ill., pleaded guilty Tuesday in U.S. District Court in St. Louis to one count of enticement to engage in prostitution.

Court documents show that an undercover St. Louis County officer responded in June to an Internet advertisement found in the “escort section” of backpage.com. The ad depicted sexually suggestive photos of a young female purported to be 19.

The undercover officer made contact with the female and determined she was a 17-year-old minor, leading to Anderson’s arrest.

Anderson admitted marketing the girl’s services for commercial sex, then keeping her earnings.
